Mandatory DEI Training and Training Opportunities

Cell Biology Mandatory EDI Training

All Cell Biology Department Members (graduate students, postdocs, staff, & faculty) have EDI training requirements to fulfill during the academic year. Please see the two EDI requirements for ALL Department members below:

  1. ALL Department members are required to complete the Cell Biology Department-sponsored OIE Implicit Bias training only once upon joining the Department

    1. New department members (who have never previously taken OIE’s Implicit Bias training) are required to take this training their first year in our Department.

    2. All Department members (who have previously taken the OIE Implicit Bias training) are not required to take this training again. However, they can take this OIE training yearly to satisfy requirement #2 below.

  2. ALL Department members are required to participate in any one EDI training offered by any Duke University organization per year.

    1. New department members will automatically satisfy this requirement by participating in the OIE training for requirement #1 above.

    2. All other Department members will need to find and participate in any one Duke EDI training, which can be the OIE training above but does not have to be that specific training.

    3. Please submit your yearly EDI training here upon participating to satisfy this requirement.
