Yarui Diao, PhD (he/him/his)

Yarui is an Assistant Professor of Cell Biology. He obtained his BS degree in Biochemistry from Nanjing University in mainland China, then moved to Hong Kong for his PhD training to study skeletal muscle regeneration at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. In 2013, he joined UC San Diego as a HFSP postdoc fellow to study epigenetics and gene regulation. In 2018, he joined Duke Cell Biology as an Assistant Professor, to continue his effort to study gene regulation of tissue regeneration. Yarui’s personal life and scientific training both benefit tremendously from a diverse community, and he committed to support the EDI effort in his lab and at Cell Biology.
