Sam Reisman (he/him/his)

Sam is a PhD student in the lab of Dr. Charles Gersbach, where his research is focused on using epigenome editing to discover and engineer factors that control cell differentiation and reprogramming. Sam received his Bachelor’s degree in Plant Biology from the University of California, Davis in 2015. After graduation he worked in the informal science education sector, where he built and maintained public cell biology exhibits at a science museum. In this role, he had the opportunity to provide interactive educational experiences to members of the public with a broad range of backgrounds, identities, and perspectives. Throughout his research and professional career, he has been fortunate to work with and learn from diverse communities and peers and is focused on fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and equitable environment in the Cell Biology department and beyond.
