Nitya Ramkumar

Representative, Postdoctoral Associate

Nitya is a postdoctoral associate working with Dr. Stefano Di Talia and Dr. Kenneth Poss on investigating morphogenesis of epidermis and epidermal derived tissues in the zebrafish during development and regeneration. She received her PhD in Developmental Biology from Weill Cornell (Sloan Kettering Institute), New York for her work conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Kathryn Anderson. Prior to joining Duke, she pursued a postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Buzz Baum at University College London. During her time as a graduate student and postdoc, she has participated in and organized outreach activities to engage the local communities in STEM research. Having extensively benefited from interactions in diverse communities during her training, she is committed to promoting an inclusive, diverse and equitable environment at Duke.
