Individual Postdoc Advisory Committee (PAC)
Postdocs now have the option to choose 2-3 faculty members to serve on their postdoc advisory committee (PAC). This is similar to the pre-doctoral committee during grad school, however this is not mandatory. Postdocs can schedule meetings with their committee to receive feedback on their project or request their advice on manuscripts, grant proposals or when preparing for the transition to an independent position. We encourage new postdocs to consider forming a committee within the first 6 months of arriving in the department. Think of it as a network of 2-3 additional PIs you will have support from during your postdoc and even after you transition to the next step. If you are interested in this option please contact Scott Soderling.
