The Duke University Postdoctoral Association (DUPA) website provides information about DUPA sponsored events and programs, including professional development seminars, mentoring programs, research events and socials.  The site also has a message board for postdocs and provides links to a number of useful sites with information for new Duke postdocs regarding housing, vehicle registration, child-care, etc.

The National Postdoctoral Association was recently founded to form a national voice for postdoctoral researchers in the United States and to improve the postdoctoral experience

is a resource with a variety of career information, postdoc-related statistics and policies, and lists of postdoctoral organizations and fellowships

Life Sciences

The American Society for Cell Biology has a Job Board listing positions in academia, industry and government

BioMedNet has a job exchange with detailed search engine.

The Career Center of Bio Online posts employment opportunities in industry.

Biospace.com has a search engine for biotech jobs

Biotechfind is a directory of international links covering the fields of biotechnologies and including a Biotechnology Career Center


Bioview is a site for biopharmaceutical jobs, news and resources

Medzilla.com has a search engine for jobs in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, health care and science

Academic Careers Online lists teaching and administrative jobs in colleges and universities.

The Academic Position Network is a very clear and concise web listing of positions, primarily in the United States.

The Chronicle of Higher Education's Career Network has a listing of academic positions in the U.S. and many other career resources.

HigherEdJobs.com has a search engine with faculty and administrative university positions.


Government

USA JOBS and America's Job Bank are job listing sites for the US Office of Personnel Management and the US Department of Labor. While both and are broad sites, they do advertise some advance research positions with Federal and State entities.

The National Science Foundation has a listing of vacancy announcements in all areas of administration and science.

The National Institutes for Health posts job openings with their CareerHere search engine.

The Center for Disease Control also posts employment opportunities.

Jobsnet is a leading provider of cost-effective online recruitment solutions for employers worldwide.

The JobNext Career Network provides job search and free resume services, targeting mostly recent graduates.

Career Development Center for Postdocs and Junior Faculty is a resource site produced by Science's Next Wave. It has great advice on job hunting, career transitions, scientific salaries, funding, lab management and many other topics important to an aspiring scientist.
